John is the Teagasc dairy advisor working in the joint dairy advisory programme with Carbery Milk Products in West Cork. He is also the advisor to Greenfield project at Shinagh, Bandon. At the 2017 PFC he received an award for Best Speaker and has also been voted Best Chairperson on several occasions by Positive Farmers Conference delegates.

John McNamara

A Vet, Dairy Farmer, Contributing Writer at Irish Independent & Farmers Weekly. She attended UCD School of Veterinary Medicine, Dublin Having graduated from UCD to be a vet, she worked in small animal practice in Dublin for a few years. In 2008 her brother Vincent Unfortunately, passed away suddenly and the family farm was without a successor. Gillian and her husband Neil decided to take the plunge and leave their jobs in Dublin to learn how to manage a dairy farm.

He is a pioneer in high profit, grass based dairying not just in Ireland, but worldwide. He has interests in farming operations in Ireland, New Zealand, Missouri, and Chile. In addition he is director of several companies outside farming. He is co-founder of the Positive Farmers.

Managed research farms in Teagasc Moorepark for over seven years, working with researchers on grazing and genetic experiments. Passionate about profitability pasture based dairy farming systems. Joined the Irish Farmers Journal as Dairy Specialist in 2015. He became a member of the Positive Farmers Team in Nov 2016

Niall, who is a native of Co. Cork, set up Emerald Dairies back in 2010, which consists of four dairy farms, two of which he owns himself, while the other two farms are share-milked.
